Catherine believes that attention to the body/mind is integral to developing wholeness and a sense of inner calm that we can translate into our lives off the yoga mat. Trained in Ashtanga yoga that includes Mysore practice, Catherine has a depth of yogic knowledge that includes awareness of safe body alignment which enables her students to move deeper into the beauty of the yoga poses. The synchronization of breath with movement becomes a moving meditation that helps enhance focus and attention to the here and now. Her ability to seamlessly integrate mindfulness into her yoga classes helps students cultivate self-awareness, self-compassion and an attitude of gratitude. With over 30 years working as a Psychotherapist/Counsellor she also understands how the yoking of the mind and body can lead to emotional healing. She has a private counselling practise in Huntsville and is pleased to be part of the yoga community at Ahimsa.und her.
